So it seems Mother Nature has played another cruel trick on us and given us a lovely summer and now that it is September, the weather? Is still lovely. In my mind, as soon as fall hits, I think of leaves changing, cozy sweaters and ditching my lipgloss and mascara only routine.
Since I love being an -ista (fashionista, travelista, make-upista), I decided to become a recessionista this fall and not go overboard revamping my look this fall. I will instead focus on a few new products, that I know will help me look trendy, without breaking the bank.
Dark, lined eyes are supah hot now and I found that I am love with Stila's Kajal Eye Liner. The color is super rich and creates the perfect smoky eye. Add some nude lipstick and some mascara and you are hot, baby!
Keep that warm sunny glow while the weather is still warm. I use Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder because a) it smells like dessert and who doesn't like dessert? and b) it gives you a luminous glow that smacks of you lounging by a pool all summer while a shirtless manservant brings you fruity drinks. I mean, what?
I've finally gotten over my pink obsession and I am now onto lavender. Which is a very good thing because the color purple is on fire this season. Try a swath over your lids for an instant update.
One thing I have invested in is a gorgeous long cardigan, from work to an evening out, I can wear this without being overly warm or bulky. A little cami underneath and a chunky necklace would totally complete my look. On the weekend, a pair of destroyed jeans and some flats would be perfect for running errands or hanging out at the cafe.
Of course, nothing is going to look good if I am am dry and scaly from the cooler weather and dry furnace. I received this great trick from Lily Morgan, from Lily Organics. Mis equal parts olive oil and sea salt with a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Scrub onto skin and slough off the dry patches. Rinse in a warm shower and then get out there and enjoy the change of seasons!
