Just came back from mad shopping spree about town. Went to bookshop and stocked up on 8 new books for holiday weekend, groceries, champagne, and some of my fave wine. Am ready to bring in New Year reading, noshing and having just a tiny festive drinky.
Called both girlfriends back and said that they were both welcome to stop in tonight, but I just wasn't up to going out. I plan on getting in my new Gap jammies soon and starting my homemade perogies for tomorrow's feast. (the ones I made on the weekend got snarfed down rather quickly) Am putting a big pot of broccoli cheddar soup on and homemade Parkerhouses are rising. Feel v. Martha-ish and homey. Am lovely chic haus fraus.
The eldest boy has a friend over to play PS2, Gamecube and the stupid Xbox and the middle boy is finishing up his Lego set he received for Christmas. The daughter is watching her favorite show, Spongebob and relaxing with her kitty. If it was colder outside and not quite as blindingly sunny, I'd most likely put the fire on. It's still hovering at 50, though and feels like spring!
Must go start on appetizers for this evening's guests and check on buns. Will then crack open new hot pink Sacchi journal and prepare to set down some 2004 goals. (For the first time ever, I've accomplished all of my 2003 goals with none to roll-over. Hurrah!)
