Mummy is gone.
After a scrumptious dinner at one of our fave Buffalonian restaurants, she flew off into a great gale force windstorm last night and the family then bereftly hit the Walden Galleria to cheer ourselves up with a vist to Ann Taylor and Eddie Bauer.
Was an extremely tiring week. Mucho plans every, and I mean every, day. The weather turned out to be perfectly lovely though. In the high 60's with sunny blue sky almost every day.
Am really exhausted. Have never shopped, ate and watched so many made-for-TV movies in my life. A quick re-cap:
Had a wonderful time at the Spaaaaah with mummy. We had oxygen facials and wellness massages. Was quite relaxing. Course the wine with the lunch we had before may have attributed to it somewhat.
Went on a wine tour through the Niagara area with my girlfriend, her mom and my mom. We sipped our way through five wineries before deciding that we adored them all and floated home. Have hideous pictures of self in vineyard with tour guide to prove it.
Went with the in-laws to the Shaw Festival on Friday. Saw The Royal Family which was fab, as they usually always are. Would have been even better, but m-i-l broke out in hives and then started to swell in unusual allergic reaction forcing us to make hasty exit 3/4 of the way through the play to the ER. Luckily handsome Kovac-like doc ushered the m-i-l in and I sat by helpfully offering tidbits of medical-related advice. ("She did eat an awful lot of shrimp at dinner.")
Did some crafty fair(e)s and Thanksgiving-ish food things on the weekend. Weather was gorgy and the leaves were lovely as we stomped around the neighborhood and the Niagara area. Had humongous family dinner on Monday - loads of turkey (and tofurkey), pumpkin-y items and casseroles. Made my famous artichoke dip and imbibed in lovely wine purchased from wine tour. I think mummy enjoyed in-laws and the husband's family being all noisy and crowded together for the day. Had our weekly football match after dinner and miraculously only one child got bonked on the head with the ball.
Husband took me to lunch and bookstore today to help me get over sadness of having mummy leaving. Feel much better after purchasing little pressies for certain b-day girls and having a venti coffee.
Am now playing catch-up to the 4500 emails I received in past 10 days. MUST FINISH massive amounts of replies and start anew on interviewing, querying and (ugh) following-up cycle.
Good to back. Write me and tell me you missed me or something.....
